Penn State’s uniforms have become something of a hot topic over the past few years as all the little details around the football program have changed thanks to new head coaches coming and going.

With the introduction of names on the jerseys under Bill O’Brien it opened up a whole realm of possibilities in an area that had gone nearly untouched for decades. Penn State’s iconic uniforms have seen their fair share of minor changes, but Nike has yet to get the OK to create alternate uniforms.

While head coach James Franklin hasn’t taken a stance on names on the jerseys just yet, in an interview with the Big Ten network on Tuesday night, he made it clear that massive changes weren’t in store for the iconic Blue and White uniforms.

“Are you trying to get me killed? Is that what you’re trying to do? Yeah, that ain’t happening around here,” Franklin said when asked about uniform alterations. “That’s not going to happen around here.”

Certainly, O’Brien said something similar when he was still in his first year at Penn State and changes ultimately came to the uniform. While that doesn’t mean Franklin will go the same route, it once again means Penn State fans will really only know what is in store for the Blue and White when the Nittany Lions hit the field.
