Penn State Football: Godwin Eyeing Friday Call To NFL

With the first round of the NFL Draft now in the books the league turns to the second day outside in sunny Philadelphia as players see their dreams of making it to the next level come true. For Penn State this weekend’s draft process looks to be a fairly subdued few days in comparison to what looks to be a historic offering of Nittany Lions in 2018. Nevertheless, the likes of receiver Chris Godwin and defensive end Garrett Sickels still stand a good chance of hearing their names called.

Friday looks like the prime moment for Godwin to finally take the next step. After an outstanding junior season, he impressed at the NFL Combine and again at Penn State’s Pro Day in front of scouts and coaches. 

There is some discrepancy as to when exactly Godwin will go, but there is a consensus when it comes to his talent. He has all the makings of a successful NFL receiver. Where he ends up remains to be seen, but it’s safe to say he’s going to make a franchise very happy far sooner rather than later.

The draft is a bit of guesswork, but some of the best prognosticators in the game have this to say about Godwin’s chances on Friday:
