Dominate the postal service?
Penn State made sure there is no question about where recruit Khaleke Hudson stands on its wish list.
On Monday, the McKeesport product was the recipient of a massive pile of missives from James Franklin and company.
“Just came home to 107 letters from Penn State today!” Hudson tweeted.
The 107 isn’t a random number. It’s apparently a reference to coach Franklin’s campaign to fill Beaver Stadium to the brim for every game with #107,000 fans.
Hudson comes in on Rivals.com as being rated a three-star athlete at 5-foot-11, 204 pounds. More importantly for Penn State’s long term goals, Hudson is rated the 15th best prospect in Pennsylvania. With the 2015 recruiting class already taken care of, Hudson could help continue the trend of in state “domination” by Franklin and his very mail-oriented staff.
Hudson has received offers from around 20 schools already including Boston College, Maryland, Michigan State, Temple, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
This isn’t the first time Penn State has resorted to the 107 strong letter writing campaign. A 2016 offensive tackle named Brandon Ford also got the same treatment. Hudson didn’t take a picture of his 107 letters, but you can see Ford’s in the photo above courtesy of his Twitter account.
While the contents of the letters are unknown, one can imagine they contain something akin to a third grade love letter.
“Do you like me? Check Yes or No.”
And so far, on the recruiting trail, James Franklin has been getting far more Yeses than Nos.
