Redshirt freshman tight end Kyle Carter is day-to-day with a lower left leg injury, Penn State coach Bill O’Brien said. A decision on his availability for Saturday’s game at Purdue will be made later this week.
‘He seems to be doing OK,’ O’Brien said Tuesday on the Big Ten Coaches’ Teleconference.
Carter is second on the team with 35 catches and 441 yards and is tied for third with two touchdowns. He injured his ankle on a 20-yard touchdown catch late in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s 35-23 loss to Ohio State.
Bouncing Back
Penn State practiced Monday evening in Holuba Hall and will do so again on Tuesday afternoon because of adverse weather from Hurricane Sandy, O’Brien said.
Despite the setback last weekend at home to Ohio State, O’Brien said his group practiced well Monday.
“These guys came back to work [Monday] and they were ready to go,” O’Brien said. “We have a great senior class. They realize they only have four opportunities left and that starts with Purdue. It starts with that leadership. They put that game behind them. We all have, and it’s time to move on and we started that process [Monday].
