Penn State football’s Saturday continued to get better as safety Nick Scott was selected in the seventh round by the Los Angeles Rams.

Scott, the 29th pick of the final round will join the Super Bowl runner-ups this summer in hopes of turning his long collegiate career into along professional one. The Fairfax, Va., native will enter a safety and secondary room with the likes of John Johnson III, Marqui Christian, 13-year veteran Eric Weddle and hard-hitting corner Aqib Talib.

Joining the Nittany Lions as a freshman in 2015, Scott waited his turn, racking up 65 of his career total 113 tackles during his senior season in 2018-19. Scott also had all three of his career interceptions during his final season of eligibility.

With only a few picks to go, Scott was the last of six Penn State players to hear his name called during the draft this weekend. Miles Sanders kicked off the draft going in the second round on Friday night to the Philadelphia Eagles followed closely by lineman Connor McGovern in the third round that same night.

On Saturday it  continued to be busy for James Franklin and his staff as they watched Shareef Miller join Sanders in Philadelphia, Amani Oruwariye head to Detroit, Trace McSorley find a place in Baltimore and now Scott land in L.A.

A handful of other Nittany Lions have been busy in free agency since the draft ended, with six signing undrafted free agent contracts
