Penn State is ranked No. 10 in the latest College Football Playoff poll released on Tuesday night. The Nittany Lions were ranked No. 12 in the poll last week when it was first released.
At 7-2 the Nittany Lions are on a five game winning streak that has included a 24-21 victory over then No. 2 Ohio State as well as 62-24 win against Purdue and most recently a 41-14 victory over Iowa.
Immediately ahead of the Nittany Lions are Auburn, Texas A&M and Wisconsin with Ohio State and Michigan coming in at No. 5 and No. 3 respectively.
Penn State travels this weekend to face Indiana on the road before heading to Rutgers and then finally finishing out the regular season at home against Michigan State. The Nittany Lions should be favored in all three games.
In an odd, circular twist, Penn State enters the Top 10 ranking almost five years to the day since former head coach Joe Paterno’s firing. Paterno was fired Nov. 9 in 2011.
