Micah Parsons is among the favorites to be selected No. 1 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft according to BetOnline. Parsons, a rising junior has not made any indication that he will in fact forgo his senior year of eligblity, but as one of the best defensive players in the nation, the assumption has long been that Parsons will eventually declare following the conclusion of the 2020 campaign.

If nothing else, Parsons’ 25-1 odds to go No. 1 overall is an indication of how highly at least one book thinks of Parsons’ potential. Even if Parsons were to return for his senior season, the Harrisburg native would find himself on similar footing for the 2022 draft.

Longtime Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence is the current favorite to go No. 1 overall while Ohio State quarterback and former Penn State commit Justin Fields is not far behind at 5-1.

Penn State junior Rasheed Walker is 12-1 to be the first offensive lineman off the board as well.

Saquon Barkley’s No. 2 overall selection in 2018 is Penn State’s most recent Top 5 draft choice. Defensive end Courtney Brown and linebacker LaVar Arrington are the last Penn State defensive players to go in the Top 5 of the NFL Draft with Brown and Arrington going No. 1 and No. 2 overall respectively during the 2000 NFL Draft.
