Penn State has completed its 2020 football schedule with the addition of home games against Nevada and San José State. The schedule news was announced on Monday afternoon.
Also announced, the Nittany Lions also will host Bowling Green on Sept. 7, 2024 in the third contest between the schools. Penn State won the previous games in 1987 and 1998 in Beaver Stadium.
During the 2020 season, Penn State opens Big Ten Conference play at home vs. Northwestern on Sept. 26. The Nittany Lions also will host conference foes Iowa (Oct. 17), Ohio State (Oct. 24), Michigan State (Nov. 14) and Maryland (Nov. 21) in 2020.
The news regarding the 2020 season also means that the brief annual series against Pitt has come to a close. Penn State has one non conference game remaining to be scheduled during the 2021. The final game during that series is scheduled for 2019. While much of Penn State’s out of conference slate in the 2020s remains open, it would appear that the series against the cross state rival will be put on pause for the immediate future.
