TEAM

– Hackenberg’s 19 pass attempts give him 1,001 in his career, good for second place all-time at Penn State. Zack Mills is the leader with 1,082.
– Hackenberg has 567 career completions, good for No. 2 on the Penn State list. Zack Mills leads with 606.
– The 49-yard pass from Hackenberg to WR Chris Godwin in the third quarter was Penn State’s longest completion of the season.
– Hackenberg’s 19-yard carry in the second quarter was a career long and resulted in a first down.
– Redshirt freshman RB Nick Scott scored his first career TD on an 11-yard run in the first quarter. Scott set career highs with 54 yards, 12 carries and his 11-yard TD run.
– Sophomore TE Mike Gesicki made his first career TD catch, a 33-yard catch and run on the final play of the third quarter, his longest career catch.
– True freshman WR Brandon Polk gained 14 yards on his one carry. For the season, he has gained 116 yards on eight carries (14.5 ypc).
DEFENSE
– Sophomore LB Jason Cabinda made a career-high and team season-high 14 tackles. He also recorded two sacks (minus-33) and a forced fumble.
– Cabinda recorded his first career sack and forced fumble on same play in the first quarter.
– DE Carl Nassib recorded his nation leading eighth sack of the season, tying Anthony Zettel (2014) for the most sacks in a season by a Nittany Lion since 2009.
– True freshman LB Manny Bowen made his first career fumble recovery in the second quarter.
– Bowen recorded a career-high six tackles (five solo) in the win.
– Sophomore S Troy Apke made a career-high five tackles.
– Redshirt freshman DE Torrence Brown, sophomore CB Grant Haley and sophomore DE Curtis Cothran all made a career-best four tackles.
– Senior LB Ben Kline saw his first game action since the 2013 contest at Minnesota (11/9/13). Kline was injured in that game and also missed the entire 2014 season.
– Senior DT Anthony Zettel had one tackle for loss to move into a tie for 14th place on Penn State’s career TFLs chart. He is tied with Anthony Adams (1999-02) with 33 career TFLs.
SPECIAL TEAMS
– Redshirt freshman PK Joey Julius made both of his field goal attempts. For the season, he is 8-of-10 on FG and 12-of-12 on PAT attempts.
– Sophomore PK Tyler Davis made his Nittany Lion debut with one kickoff.
