Penn State’s 4,000 Jewish undergraduates comprise 10 percent of its total population, the ninth-largest Jewish population of any public U.S. university according to Hillel College Guide Magazine’s Fall 2015 edition

Its 500 graduate students are also eight percent of the total graduate population.

In addition to a large population of Jewish students, University Park offers 80 Jewish courses, a number topped only by Michigan, McGill University, and Ohio State. Penn State offers Jewish Studies as both a major and a minor.

The Big Ten dominates the top of the list, with Rutgers, New Brunswick at No. 2, University of Maryland at No. 4, University of Michigan at No. 5, Indiana University at No. 6, and University of Wisconsin, Madison at No. 7.

If you’re interested in Jewish student life at Penn State, Penn State Hillel offers a wide array of cultural and religious activities.
