Freshman forward Scott Conway has been dismissed from the Penn State men’s hockey team for violation of team rules head coach Guy Gadowsky announced Monday afternoon.

Conway scored 10 goals and had a total of 26 points during his up and down freshman campaign. The England native became a dependable force on both ends of the ice by the end of the year.

The dismissal marks the first under Gadowsky’s relatively short tenure at Penn State. No details were released regarding the nature of the violation of team rules.

Penn State will look to replace a promising talent in Conway along with the team’s 2014-15 leading goal scorer, Casey Bailey, who now plays for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Gadowsky is set to join Penn State’s coaches caravan on its opening leg this week but has already stated he will not divulge any details on an issue he views as “closed.”
