Stephen Dunham was named Penn State’s new vice president and general counsel Wednesday, pending approval by the Board of Trustees at its July meeting.
Dunham, who’s resume includes Princeton, Yale Law School and having served as the vice president and general counsel at Johns Hopkins University, will be in charge of Penn State’s legal office, at University Park and in Hershey.
The office he’ll be taking over provides legal advice to the Board of Trustees, administration, faculty and staff.
Dunham replaces Cynthia Baldwin, a former state Supreme Court justice and a former Penn State board chairwoman.
She announced her departure in January, but remains with the university until a successor can be confirmed by the board. Baldwin is following through on the original plan announced in January 2010, when she took on the role of general counsel in the transitional capacity.
Previous coverage and the full story from Jan. 17 on Baldwin’s announcement that she would step down is available here.
