In a game in which assistant coach Kia Damon referred to it as the most complete game of the season, the Penn State Lady Lions basketball team defeated Michigan State, 76-55 at the Breslin Center in East Lansing, Mich.

It was the defense that created numerous opportunities for Penn State, as it flustered the Spartans from the opening tip by deflecting pass after pass and limiting the Spartans to just less than 30 percent shooting for the game. At one point in the second half, Michigan State was shooting just 25 percent and finished at 29.3 percent for the game.

The Lady Lions were led in scoring by Dara Taylor, who scored a career-high 18 points and led four players in double figures, with Nikki Greene chipping in with 14, Alex Bentley with 13 and Maggie Lucas with 12. Greene had her second double-double of the season and the 11th of her career with 10 rebounds as well.

Penn State is 13-2 overall and 2-0 in the Big Ten and will next face Nebraska, which comes to the Bryce Jordan Center on Sunday for a 2 p.m. tip that can be seen on ESPN2.
