The NCAA released its tournament bracket on Wednesday and three Penn State wrestlers are seeded No. 1.
Frank Molinaro, David Taylor and Ed Ruth were voted top seeds in the 149, 165, and 174-pound weight classes, respectively.
The Nittany Lions will send six other wrestlers to the national tournament, including Nico Megaludis, a 10th seed at 125 pounds, Frank Martellotti, unseeded at 133 pounds, Dylan Alton, a seventh seed at 157 pounds, Quentin Wright, a 6th seed at 184 pounds, Morgan McIntosh, unseeded at 197 pounds and Cameron Wade, seeded sixth in the heavyweight class.
With nine wrestlers receiving automatic bids to the three-day tournament at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, the only Penn State starter in suspense Wednesday was 141-pounder Bryan Pearsall, who ultimately did not earn one of four wild card berths in the weight class.
Bosak Ranked Fourth
Steve Bosak, a State College native wrestling at Cornell University, was awarded the fourth seed in the 184-pound weight class. Bosak was the runner-up at the EIWA Championships last Sunday, losing a 3-2 decision to Robert Hamlin, of Lehigh, in the finals.
