State College police are trying to identify two men considered ‘persons of interest’ in a downtown arson investigation, they announced Wednesday.
The arson investigation involves the police vehicle that was torched early Sunday behind the State College borough municipal building, 243 S. Allen St., police said.
The persons of interest are described as white males in their late teens. One had dark hair and was wearing a gray T-shirt, tan shorts and dark sneakers; the other had lighter hair and was wearing a gray T-shirt, camouflage shorts and white sneakers, according to police.
Photos of the males, provided by the borough police, are posted in a gallery to the right of this article. It appears that the images were captured in the Beaver Avenue parking garage.
Police are asking anyone who can identify the males, and anyone who may have other information, to call them at (814) 234-7150 or Centre County CRIMESTOPPERS at (877) 992-7463.
Anonymous tips may be submitted through the borough police website. In addition, CRIMESTOPPERS is offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
