The 7th Annual Keystone Classic Ballroom Dance Competition was held all day Saturday at Penn State’s White Building.
Penn State competed against other schools, including the University of Virginia and Carnegie Mellon University.
Classic dances included the waltz, quickstep, tango, jive, cha cha, rumba, samba, salsa, foxtrot and tango. Dancers dressed in formal attire, and spectators cheered on their favorites from the stands. A special performance by Mayo Alanen from Dancing with the Stars was made at the end of the afternoon.
Lessons were held throughout the semester at LateNight Penn State prior to the event. The lessons are structured toward those interested in competitive dancing. Techniques focused on leading and following skills, which were shown at the competition.
