They braved the coldest weekend that central Pennsylvania has seen this winter.
And they did it — as the upbeat slogan goes — for the kids.
Hundreds of Penn State students spread out across Pennsylvania and nearby states the past few days, soliciting cash contributions for the Penn State Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon. It marked the third ‘canning weekend’ of THON’s 2010-2011 fundraising season.
A few students have shared photos from their canning trips with StateCollege.com. They’re posted in the gallery to the right.
If you’d like to see your photos posted here, too, send them via e-mail to adam.smeltz@statecollege.com.
The annual dance marathon itself, capping months’ worth of organizing and fundraising, is scheduled for Feb. 18 to Feb. 20 at the Bryce Jordan Center. Funds raised through the event go to the Four Diamonds Fund, which supports pediatric-cancer research and treatment.
