Six weeks since five people were stabbed in State College, borough police Chief Tom King said Monday that police are continuing to investigate the violence.

In recent weeks, investigators have ‘traveled out of town to talk to witnesses in other parts of Pennsylvania,’ King said in a phone interview with StateCollege.com.

But ‘we don’t have any significant information to provide (to the public) at this point,’ he said.

Authorities have yet to charge anyone in connection with the stabbings, which happened in two separate incidents — one each on Oct. 9 and Oct. 10.

In the first, reported about 2 a.m., three people suffered life-threatening deep cuts outside the Knights of Columbus hall on Stratford Drive, according to police reports. The facility had been rented that night for a private party.

Two of the three stabbing victims there were identified as Penn State students.

The second stabbing incident, also reported about 2 a.m., happened on the 100 block of South Burrowes Street. A large fight broke out in that area, and two Penn State students were badly knifed.

All of the victims’ conditions have since stabilized.

Police on Oct. 15 charged a half-dozen people for their roles in the Burrowes Street fight. They were charged with disorderly conduct, but none of them has been accused in connection with the stabbings. (None of those charged is a Penn State student, either.)

Authorities have offered a reward of as much as $1,000 for information leading to an arrest in either stabbing incident. Tipsters can call Centre County Crimestoppers at (877) 99-CRIME.
