The Centre County District Attorney’s Office on Monday warned residents of a phone scam made to appear as if it is originating from the DA’s office.

The call spoofs the DA’s office main phone number, (814) 355-6735. A male caller who claims to be County Detective Ralph Ralston then demands that the call be returned and an interview completed, or a bench warrant will be issued.

“This appears to be a scam attempt, more than likely, to steal funds or personal information,” according to a news release from the DA’s office.

Residents who receive a call from the number should not give out personal information.

Anyone who receives such a call can\ contact the DA’s office to verify it.
