A Centre County man arrested on Wednesday is accused of using a messaging application to send videos depicting child sexual exploitation, according to state investigators.

Christopher B. Kennedy, 26, of Gregg Township, is charged with three felony counts of child pornography and one felony count of criminal use of a communication facility.

The Pennsylvania Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a tip from the messaging platform Kik in November 2023 that a user had sent multiple videos of child pornography to other accounts, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed by a special agent from the Attorney General’s Child Predator Section.

Three videos sent by the user depicted girls under the age of 18 engaged in sexual acts, including two that showed prepubescent girls in the presence of an adult male, the agent wrote.

The user account, associated email and the IP address used to send the videos were traced to Kennedy, according to the affidavit.

Kennedy was arraigned on Wednesday night by District Judge Don Hahn and was unable to post $90,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 19.
