Police on Wednesday arrested a College Township man accused of selling cocaine in the State College area.

Roni Diaz, 24, sold cocaine to police informants eight times between August 2023 and Tuesday, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed by State College police.

A borough detective learned based on information from the informants that Diaz had been selling drugs in the area, according to the affidavit. The informants then arranged to purchase cocaine from Diaz through Signal and Telegram encrypted messaging applications, and controlled buys were conducted under surveillance, police wrote.

Diaz is charged with 17 felony counts of possession with intent to deliver, eight felony counts of criminal use of a communication facility and nine misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance.

He was arraigned Wednesday by District Judge Casey McClain and was unable to post $50,000 straight bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 28.
