Pedestrian Hospitalized After Being Struck by Driver on Penn State Campus

A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a driver in a crash the closed a University Park campus road for nearly two hours on Friday, according to Penn State police.

The crash happened at about 2 p.m. at the corner of Bigler and Curtin roads near East Halls. The pedestrian was taken by Penn State EMS to Mount Nittany Medical Center, University Police and Public Safety spokesperson Jackie Sheader wrote in an email.

Police declined to comment on the condition of the pedestrian, the cause of the crash, the type of vehicle involved, the ages of the pedestrian and driver and whether either is affiliated with the university.

University police and the Centre County Accident Reconstruction Team are investigating the crash, Sheader said.

Curtin Road was closed between Bigler Road and University Drive until about 3:45 p.m.
