Police Increase Reward for Information on Heroin Death

State College Police are now offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information about who supplied the heroin that caused the death of a State College woman earlier this month.

The reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or people for drug delivery resulting in the death of 25-year-old Shana Greger has been increased from an initial $1,000.

‘The ongoing investigation into this overdose death continues and the State College Police would like to thank those persons who have already contacted the police department with information on this overdose death investigation,’ Lt. Keith Robb said in a statement. ‘The information provided thus far has been helpful and we urge anyone else who has information on the heroin that was provided to Shana Greger that caused her death to contact the State College Police Department.’

Greger was found unconscious and not breathing after police were dispatched to a cardiac arrest call at an apartment at 915 Southgate Drive. CPR and naloxone — a medication used to reverse the effects of opioids — were administered but unsuccessful in reviving Greger. Centre County Deputy Coroner Todd Shook pronounced her dead at the scene at 10:44 p.m. Evidence discovered at the scene led police to believe a heroin overdose caused Greger’s death.
