Police: Penn State Student Falls from State College Apartment Balcony

UPDATE @ 3:55 a.m. Tuesday: A Penn State student did indeed fall from an upper-floor balcony about 11:50 p.m. Monday at the Cedarbrook apartment building, 320 E. Beaver Ave., State College police confirmed early Tuesday.

The student is a 20-year-old male, according to a news release. Police did not immediately release his name.

He was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment, police reported. His condition was not immediately available.

An investigation is ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information to call them at (814) 234-7150.

Earlier report, posted @ 12:55 a.m. Tuesday:

A Penn State student was found unconscious along East Beaver Avenue late Monday night, apparently having fallen from a residential balcony, witnesses said.

They said the student was motionless on the sidewalk outside the Cedarbrook apartment building, 320 E. Beaver Ave., shortly before midnight. He was wearing shorts, a shirt and socks — but no shoes, according to witness reports.

Multiple police cars and an ambulance responded immediately to the scene.

The student was taken from the scene by ambulance and transported, at least initially, to Mount Nittany Medical Center, emergency communications suggest. Additional details were not immediately available.
