Police: Residential Burglary Reported in State College

A small tablet computer was reported stolen Monday from a Southgate Drive residence, State College police said.

The theft, listed as a burglary, was reported at 10:10 p.m. at 711 Southgate Drive, according to a police report.

Police said there were no signs of forced entry. The value of the loss is estimated at $150.

Local authorities often see an increase in break-ins during the holiday period, when many people travel out of the region. Burglary reports are beginning to pick up this week in State College, though, in the borough, they’ve been limited thus far to residences, police said. More details about those reports are expected to be available Wednesday.

Multiple business and residential burglaries, meanwhile, have been reported in Ferguson Township.
