Police are seeking help identifying a suspect in a reported indecent assault from early Friday morning.
A woman was walking home along the 500 block of Clover Alley between East Fairmount and Prospect Avenues at approximately 1:00 a.m when she realized she was being followed, according to a news release from State College police. A man caught up to her and blocked her path while trying to a start a conversation.
The man then reportedly pushed the woman to the ground, causing minor leg injuries. The man exposed himself and attempted to touch the victim inappropriately above and under her clothing, according to the news release. He reportedly threatened to hurt the victim is she did have sex with him. The woman was able to shove and kick the assailant and escape.
Police describe the suspect as a white male in his mid 20s, approximately 5’9′ tall with an average build. He has short brown hair in a crew cut, brown eyes, a small chin and a larger than average nose. The man was wearing a grey t-shirt with dark lettering and dark blue Nike shorts.
Police ask anyone with information to call 814-234-7150 or submit an anonymous tip online.
Police are also investigating a second reported indecent assault that occurred at Indigo Nightclub at 112 West College Avenue sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning. Police say that a white, college-aged, roughly 5’6″ tall male attempted to inappropriately touch a female patron. He was wearing a Halloween costume at the time, but police have not released details about the costume.
