Penn State police are looking for a vehicle — and a driver — sought in connection with a vandalism incident outside Beaver Stadium, they said Friday.
The incident happened about 4:15 a.m. Tuesday, when, surveillance footage shows, the vehicle damaged gates, was driven on some grass and knocked down two signs — including a Paternoville marker.
Police said the vehicle’s driver took the Paternoville marker from the scene.
They described the vehicle as a gray- or silver-colored sedan — perhaps a Toyota. It should have substantial damage to its passenger-side front and rear doors and be missing a passenger-side front hubcap, police said. The vehicle also should have a damaged front bumper, according to a police description.
Images of the vehicle are posted here, via Penn State Live.
Police are asking anyone with information about the driver to call them at (814) 863-1111 or Centre County Crimestoppers at (877) 99-CRIME. Tipsters may remain anonymous or can visit the Penn State police Silent Witness website, police said.
Police also have advised people to call authorities any time they see suspicious activity. Non-emergency calls can be directed to (814) 863-1111.
In other matters reported Friday, State College borough police said two men got into an altercation late Thursday or early Friday at the downtown McDonald’s, on East College Avenue at Sowers Street. One man broke a soap dispenser in a bathroom there, according to a police report. When a security guard tried to intervene, police said, a second man pushed the worker into a wall.
The security guard responded by discharging pepper spray, police said. He held the two men until police arrived, according to the police report.
Police said one of the McDonald’s visitors will face a disorderly-conduct charge; the other, a criminal-mischief charge.
