State College police have found the suspect wanted in a July 15 bank robbery at 460 Westerly Parkway, they announced Monday.

A fingerprint developed by the borough police Criminal Investigation Unit led investigators to Algis Diaz, 25, of Reading, according to a news release. Diaz was incarcerated earlier in Berks County in connection with the theft of a car in Patton Township, police Capt. John Gardner said.

The car was stolen also on July 15, Gardner said. He said police expect that Diaz, who remains behind bars in Berks County, will be returned to Centre County to face charges related to the stolen car and to the bank robbery.

It was during the morning hours on July 15 that a robber struck the First National Bank branch on Westerly Parkway. No one was hurt in the incident, though the robber made off with some cash, police have said.
