The Rockview Driver License Center, 812 W. College Ave. in Pleasant Gap, will be closed for three weeks for renovations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced on Wednesday.

The center will be closed from Monday, April 23 through Saturday, May 12 for replacement of the building’s HVAC system. It will reopen for photo services on Monday, May 14 and driver licensing services on Tuesday, May 15.

Customers with a scheduled non-commercial driver license test between April 23 and May 12 should report to the Rockview Driver License Center on their scheduled date and time. Staff will be at Rockview to give previously scheduled driving tests.

While the Rockview center is closed, local customers are asked to use the Lewistown Driver License Center, 13187 Ferguson Valley Road in Yeagertown. Hours of operation at the Lewistown center have been modified to Tuesday through Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. for driver licensing services. Photo center hours of operation have been modified to Monday through Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., with extended hours to 6 p.m. on Thursdays. The modified hours will remain in effect until the Rockview center reopens.

Last March, the Rockview Center closed for about a week for HVAC issues related to air quality. A PennDOT spokesperson said on Wednesday that a temporary fix was made at the time, but the entire system now needs to be replaced.
