Schlow Labs, a series offering technology help in a variety of subjects, will return for six classes this winter and spring at Schlow Centre Region Library.

Each class, held in Schlow’s Musser Room, begins at 10:30 a.m. and is free to attend. Space is limited, however, and attendees should call the library at (814) 235-7816 or visit schlowlibrary.org.

The first session will be held Jan. 27 and will introduce participants to Schlow’s 3-D printers. The library has two 3-D printers that are available for anyone to use to print their own projects. The class will familiarize attendees with online resources and show how the printers work.

On Feb. 3, ‘An Introduction to Libby for Overdrive eBooks,’ will help attendees learn more about the new app for the eBook platform. Staff will help install the app, get it set up and make sure readers know how to get the books they want on their devices.

‘Tinkering with the Web’ on Feb. 10 is geared for ages 11 and up and will teach HTML basics. It will teach the building blocks of websites by using tools to delete, modify or add elements to existing websites in a hands-on activity.

‘eBook Basics’ on March 24 will help attendees learn how to use on all their devices eBooks and eAudiobooks from the large number available through Schlow.

On April 7, ‘iPad Basics’ offers an introduction to settings, features and apps in iOS11.

The final class of the spring will be ‘Digital Photo Storage Solutions’ on April 28, with a look at how to manage, store and share photos taken on Apple and Android devices.

For those who cannot attend a class but need tech help, the library offers free, personalized training. Call Schlow to set up an appointment.
