After being absent for several months due to construction taking place at the Weis Market at the Hills Plaza South, a brand new Schlow Library Remote Book Return is now back at the store.

Thanks to the Weis Market, the Book Return is now available 24/7 in its great new outdoor location. Just next to the left-hand entrance as you face the store, it stands side-by-side with the USPS mailbox.

Convenient for all area library users, Schlow’s network of easy-to-access Remote Book Returns includes five other handy drop-off spots throughout Centre Region:

  • Schlow Centre Region Library, behind the Library near the Schlow parking lot exit, accessible from Pugh or Foster Streets, outside and available 24/7

  • Giant, Northland Center, North Atherton Street outside and available 24/7

  • Nittany Mall, Benner Pike, inside Entrance B between Nittany Sandwich Works and Holiday Hair, accessible during Mall hours, Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • Brother’s Pizza, Stormstown, outside and available 24/7

  • Uni-Mart, Carson’s Corner, outside and available 24/7

Items returned to Stormstown and Carson’s Corner are picked up weekly on Wednesdays; materials returned to all other Remote Book Returns are picked up daily, Monday through Sunday.

With the exceptions of items that do not fit in the book drop openings, which must to be returned directly to any one of the libraries, patrons are welcome to return all Schlow and Centre County Library materials, including those from all branches and the bookmobile, to the Remote Book Returns.

“We really appreciate the terrific community support from these organizations,” says Pat Colby, Schlow’s circulation manager. “It’s wonderful of them to make it possible for our library users to have so many convenient spots to return their books, DVDs and other materials.”
