An alternative school renovation plan submitted to the State College Area School District by David Paterno was greeted with criticism in a report prepared by school administrators, Poole Anderson Construction, and L. Robert Kimball & Associates.
According to the school district’s response, as reported in the Centre Daily Times, the proposal delivered by Paterno two weeks ago presents nothing new and reinforces the limitations of housing students in two separate buildings. Paterno’s plan, titled “The Sensible Solution,” calls for renovating the two high school buildings and constructing a bridge across Westerly Parkway, all at a cost of $62 to $67 million.
Further discussion of Paterno’s plan will take place at a school board meeting to be held Monday night at 7:30pm in the Mount Nittany Middle School Library. (More info)
