Two Ferguson Township schools were briefly placed on lockdown Monday morning while police investigated an incident nearby that did not involve any direct threats to the schools.
The lockdown at Young Scholars of Central Pennsylvania Charter School and The Goddard School, both on Westerly Parkway, ended after about 10 minutes around 11 a.m. All students and staff were safe.
Corl Street Elementary and Our Lady of Victory School also were notified, according to Ferguson Township Police Chief Chris Albright.
Albright said officers responded to a domestic dispute at a residence on Blair Road, about 1,200 feet from the schools, in which a woman said that during an argument her boyfriend made a comment about harming himself and left the residence with a knife. Albright said the 18-year-old man reportedly cut himself but that the woman was not injured.
Officers located the man a short time later and he was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center with a non-life threatening injury.
