‘Saturday Night Live’ comedian Seth Meyers will bring his stand-up act to Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center at 8 p.m. Sept. 17, the university announced Tuesday.
Meyers, 36, will appear in ‘an intimate theater setting,’ according to the written announcement.
A member of the ‘SNL’ staff for nine years, Meyers is now the show’s head writer and has helped to compose Tina Fey’s parodies of Sarah Palin. He is well known for his work as a co-anchor on the ‘Weekend Update’ segment of the show.
‘We were trying to bring in a comedian for the fall, and Seth was doing a couple dates in the Northeast,’ Bernie Punt, the Jordan Center’s marketing director, wrote in an e-mail message. ‘All the stars lined up.’
Non-student tickets for his Jordan Center appearance will cost $27.50 apiece and go on sale at 10 a.m. July 30. They will be available through the Jordan Center ticket office, the Penn State Downtown Theatre, the Penn State Altoona campus and two websites: www.ticketmaster.com and www.bjc.psu.edu.
Sales also will be available by phone at (814) 865-5555. Tickets for University Park students will cost $9.99 apiece.
