Sowers Harvest Café will celebrate its fifth anniversary this week in the best way possible: free food.

From Tuesday, Sept. 8 through Saturday, Sept. 12, the cafe at 421 E. Beaver Ave. in State College will provide free coffee and tea, as well as daily featured food items that change each day. Free food options will include egg sandwiches, muffins, soft pretzels, and fruit smoothies. There will also be giveaways happening on Sowers’ Facebook page.

Sowers Harvest Café opened in 2015. Prior to that, it was known as College Town Café. The family-owned cafe is best known for its fresh ingredients and “homey” atmosphere.  Sowers makes fresh soft pretzels by hand daily inside the store and gets its milk locally from Meyer Dairy on South Atherton Street.

Sowers is currently offering indoor and outdoor dining for customers. Masks are required at all times while inside the building. The restaurant’s COVID-19 guidelines and rules can be found here.
