Though weather these days requires jackets and scarves, and
the frost is starting to settle on all things grassy, the State College Spikes
are already looking forward to next season with the announcement of their 2007
New York-Penn League schedule.

This season will be the Spikes first as the Short-Season Class-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates and will kick off on Tuesday, June 19th against the rival Williamsport Crosscutters (Philadelphia Phillies affiliate) at Historic Bowman Field in Williamsport.

The Spikes 38-game home schedule at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park is set to open the following night, Wednesday, June 20, against the Crosscutters at 7:05 p.m.

Standard start times for all of the games slated for Monday through Saturday will remain at 7:05 p.m., and Sunday contests will start at 6:05 p.m.

There will be a special 1:00 p.m. start on July 4th against Williamsport, and a noon start on August 6 against the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.

The overall schedule consists of 76 games in 81 days.

Season tickets, luxury suites and group packages are currently available for the 2007 season by calling the Spikes’ offices toll-free at 877-99-SPIKES, by visiting the Spikes Front Offices, or by heading to the Medlar Field at Lubrano Park Open House on December 14 from 5-8 p.m.
