The State College boys golf team won the PIAA Class 3A title on Monday at Heritage Hills Golf Resort in York for the program’s first state championship.
The Little Lions battled with Fox Chapel throughout the day and the teams were tied at +8 (292) after 18 holes, sending it to a team playoff. State College won it with a birdie and three pars.
Senior John Olsen, who earlier this month captured his third consecutive District 6 championship, led the Little Lions with a 1-under 70.
Maxwell Wager shot a 72 (+1), while Luke Janac carded a 74 (+3) and Joey Sabol had a 76 (+5).
