Local residents will have a chance to quiz the candidates this week in several primary races in Centre County.
The League of Women Voters of Centre County has scheduled two Candidates’ Nights — one each for Tuesday evening and Wednesday evening. Both will begin at 7 p.m. in the State College Municipal Building, 243 S. Allen St.
In the first gathering, primary candidates for the county Board of Commissioners will take questions from the public. In the second, on Wednesday, primary candidates for county judge, State College Borough Council and the State College Board of School Directors will take questions.
Under the Candidates’ Night format, the gatherings will be free and open to the public. Attendees are given note cards on which they can write questions they’d like to ask the candidates. A moderator collects the written questions, then poses as many as possible to the candidates.
Both Candidates’ Night events will be recorded by C-NET and aired later on CGTV (Comcast channel 7) and will be available for online viewing via the C-NET website.
