State College area McDonald’s restaurants will offer “at least 150 new employment opportunities for displaced workers,” according to owner/owner operator Joe Nyanko.

This new ‘quick-hire’ employment initiative went into affect on Friday for each area location.

This new campaign will offer both crew member and managerial positions and is aimed at local residents who are facing financial challenges because of the coronavirus pandemic. Both full-time and part-time positions will be available.

“We are in a very difficult and uncertain time,” Nyanko said. “The local economy has taken a major hit with the loss of many annual events and the university’s pause in operations. I am announcing this initiative to immediately provide work for those who need it most.”

Nyanko added that each restaurant offers flexible scheduling, free employee meals, and scholarship opportunities.

“In fact, in the last year, McDonald’s awarded almost $100,000 in scholarships to employees at the State College locations,” he said.

The locations include 442 E. College Ave., 2821 E. College Ave., 2167 S. Atherton St. and 1615 N. Atherton St. in State College and 802 N. Eagle Valley Rd. in Milesburg.
