Jason Robison, the suspect in the Friday night murder of a state trooper in Huntingdon County, has died, Pennsylvania State Police announced shortly after 10:30 a.m. Saturday

Robison was located Saturday morning. After refusing orders and making ‘an overt threat’ against officers, Robison was shot and killed by police, Capt. David Cain said at a news conference Saturday afternoon.

Trooper Landon Weaver, 23, was shot and killed while investigating a protection from abuse order violation at a residence on Bakers Hollow Road in Juniata Township, near Raystown Lake, at about 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Cain said while Weaver was interviewing Robison, Robison gained access to a firearm and shot Weaver.

Police identified Robison, 32, of Hesston, as the suspect. Homicide charges were filed and an arrest warrant obtained as police searched for Robison overnight.

Weaver had enlisted in the Pennsylvania State Police just over a year ago, on Dec. 15, 2015. He is the 97th member of the Pennsylvania State Police to be killed in the line of duty.
