Three local men have been charged in connection with a Dec. 6 robbery at the KFC in Patton Township, township police said late Tuesday.

Jason Alan Hampton, 26, of Spring Mills; Gregory M. Johnson, 40, of State College; and Jason Gerzseny, 26, of Pennsylvania Furnace all are charged, police said. Hampton and Johnson are facing charges of robbery, conspiracy, simple assault, criminal mischief, theft and receiving stolen property.

Grezseny, meanwhile, is charged with robbery and criminal conspiracy. All three men were arrested without incident Tuesday at various locations in the State College area, then lodged in the Centre County Correctional Facility, police said.

The robbery happened shortly after 10 p.m. on a Monday outside the KFC, 2020 N. Atherton St., according to a police report. An employee had just locked up the restaurant for the night and approached his car, police said.

Then, according to the police report, two men who’d been hiding punched the employee and took his cell phone and wallet. Two tires on the employee’s car had been flattened, police said.

Police said a third person was reported to have been driving a getaway vehicle.
