A severe thunderstorm watch will be in effect for the State College area through 8 p.m. Friday, according to an AccuWeather.com post.
The watch, issued by the National Weather Service, includes a number of counties, including Centre, Clinton, Blair, Huntingdon and Mifflin.
Through 6:15 p.m., that watch will be elevated to a warning for a portion of the region, including State College, the post notes. The warning encompasses portions of Centre, Clinton, Snyder and Lycoming counties, among other areas.
A tornado watch was in effect Thursday evening in the State College area, but that bulletin has since expired.
