A number of farms around the State College area offer residents a place to find that special tree to light up their homes. With Christmas right around the corner, it’s time to stop thinking about that perfect tree and get out there and do it.
Chris Harner has been working on his family’s Harner Farm, 2191 W. Whitehall Rd., nearly his whole life. He says the Christmas tree business picks up right after Thanksgiving and goes strong through the next five weeks.
Harner estimates they’ll sell about 600 trees this season from the farms 8 acres. Guests can buy pre-cut trees or venture out with a saw and cut one down themselves.
