The term “cup o’ Joe” is going to have a whole new meaning.

Joe Paterno, a long-time supporter of the Special Olympics, now shares a sideline with Dunkin Donuts in support of the charity. The State College doughnut and coffee shop will release Friday its line of “We Love Our Joe” mugs. The tumblers and handled mugs, which bear the likeness of the winningest coach in major college football. A portion of the proceeds will support Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA). In addition, Wildcat LLC, which is organizing the promotion, will donate a portion of proceeds from every cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee sold to SOPA.

Sue Paterno has been on the Board of Directors for SOPA for more than 15 years, and both she and her husband were inducted into the SOPA Hall of Fame last year.

“We are privileged to see firsthand and be inspired by the athletes when they come to Penn State for their Summer Games,” Joe Paterno said in statement. “Special Olympics reaches so many incredible people throughout the state, touching not only the athletes but a vast network of volunteers as well. Sue has been a tremendous supporter and we are happy to do everything we can to further the goals of Special Olympics Pennsylvania.”
