From car dealers to retirement communities, financial services to energy providers, a broad cross-section of the central-Pennsylvania business community will be showcased at the annual Regional Expo this fall.
The Chamber of Business and Industry of Centre County organizes the event, known formally as the Central Pennsylvania Regional Business and Industry Expo. Now in its third year, the gathering, presented by 611 MRI/CT, is scheduled for 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Bryce Jordan Center, University Park.
Admission is free and open to the public. More than 125 business exhibitors from several counties will be on hand to highlight their services and products, said CBICC events coordinator Connie Corl.
‘The goal is to provide members of (area chambers of business) an opportunity to promote themselves to other businesses and consumers throughout the region,’ she said. Overall attendance last year was estimated at roughly 1,000 people.
An outgrowth of a former, Centre County-only CBICC expo, the Regional Expo has expanded to incorporate 13 business chambers across central Pennsylvania. They include those in Bedford, Blair, Clearfield, Clinton and Mifflin counties.
Any business-chamber member is welcome to participate in the expo, for which Friday — Oct. 21 — marks the registration deadline. (StateCollege.com is among the event’s media sponsors.)
Among elements of this year’s expo:
- Six free workshops will be open to attendees; no pre-registration for those is required. They will include sessions on functional-capacity evaluations, marketing, commercial remodeling, website improvements and online marketing. HealthSouth Nittany Valley Rehabilitation Hospital is the workshops’ sponsor.
- The expo will be fully centered on the arena floor of the Jordan Center, uniting the workshops and exhibitors in one place. In prior years, the expo’s elements had been more spread out through the venue. The new organizational approach will make it easier for visitors to navigate the event, Corl said.
- The exhibitor list covers a true gamut of businesses in central Pennsylvania. A quick review shows nonprofits, media organizations, culinary and fitness-driven businesses, transportation groups and medical concerns, among numerous others.
