The State College area’s newest Sheetz store, on South Atherton Street at West Branch Road, is now expected to open in mid-December, company spokeswoman Monica Jones told StateCollege.com.
She said newly built store will cover about 5,000 square feet — the largest convenience-store square footage allowed under College Township zoning rules.
A Sheetz store of that size typically employs about 30 people, most of them part-time, according to the Altoona-based chain. Hiring for the new store — the fifth in the Centre Region — has already begun.
