Wasson Farm Gears Up for Fall Festivities

As autumn quickly approaches, many families in the area will soon be looking to participate in their favorite fall activities, whether it be picking pumpkins, exploring a corn maze or taking a hay ride. In order to keep the festivities alive this season, local farms are making some changes to accommodate families during COVID-19.

Wasson Farm Market on Shingletown Road is one of many farms in the are making these changes to ensure that they can provide a fun fall experience.

For the last 20 years Wasson Farm has held an annual fall fest for the community. And although it may look a little bit different this year, they’re still excited to see the turnout for the upcoming events.

Krystal Wasson is the event coordinator at Wasson Farm and is excited to try to provide the community with a normal fall experience.

‘We’ve had a lot of people that have continually asked us throughout the summer ‘Are you going to do your fall events?’ Just because it’s something their families have done for so many years and they just wanted that normalcy in their life,’ Wasson said.

Wasson Farm is taking precautions by enforcing social distancing and masking regulations, as well as modifying hayride capacities and monitoring lines.

The fall festival will take place on the weekends of Sept. 26-27, Oct. 3-4, and Oct. 10-11, expanding it from two weekends to three in order to help with social distancing by spreading out the crowds. The event — 10 a.m.-5 p.m. each day — will feature pumpkin picking, food vendors, wine tasting and the farm’s homemade ice cream. Pumpkin picking is $7 per person and includes the pumpkin.
