A water main break at the intersection of South Allen Street and Calder Way forced the closure of the 100 block of South Allen as well as Calder from South Allen to Humes Alley until 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
The borough said the breach of a 10-inch water main occurred late Monday night. The Borough Water Authority is working to repair the water main and surrounding infrastructure. South Allen is closed between College Avenue and Beaver Avenue.
Traffic in the downtown will be subject to delays. Deliveries to businesses located near the intersection may be delayed because of the closure.
