The bitter cold wind has subsided, at least for now, and the weekend has finally arrived. It’s still cold out, but it’s time to find something to do with that free time you have now.

- Sometimes the best place to waste a day and find some great deals is at a garage sale. The annual indoor garage and bake sale is taking place Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. by The State College Knights of Columbus and The Catholic daughters at the Knights of Columbus Hall. You can find anything from clothing to antiques.
- Looking for an early evening activity? Check out the women’s tennis team as it takes on Akron in the Sarni Tennis Center at 5 p.m.
- Got the winter blues? Cheer up with a good laugh. Get the giggles at the Bryce Jordan Center with comedian Jeff Dunham? Dunham brings his undeniable talent and unstoppable laughs to Penn State at 8 p.m. Tickets for students are $20 and general admission is $48. - In the mood for some late night fun in the snow? Ski, ride or tube under the lights at Tussey Mountain for just $13 from 7-10pm! Also available are $5 pizzas and late night happys from 9 – 11 p.m. in the bar. www.tussymountain.com
Saturday
- Spend part of your day at the StateCollege.com Game of the Week: the track teams’ Penn State National. This event runs all day.
- Saturday is your last chance to attend the Bill Welch Memorial Cartoon Series at the State Theatre starting at 10 a.m.! Watch all the classic Warner Brother’s cartoons on the big screen for free. Bowl of cereal not included.
- Did you know T.G.I. Friday’s has online delivery? Order yourself a delicious Jack Daniel’s burger tonight.
- Christian music’s largest annual tour, the Winter Jam 2010 Tour Spectacular, will blow through Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center on Saturday at 6 PM. No tickets are required and admission is only $10 at the door.
- In the mood for music in a more laid back atmosphere? Why not check out McCloskey and the Hifis at 10 p.m. Saturday at Bar Bleu? Fishbowl are $5 until midnight. Don’t forget to check out StateCollege.com’s bar tour for downtown’s bar specials.
Sunday
- Want to learn how to ski or snowboard, but can’t afford expensive lessons? Get a beginner lift ticket, a beginner Lesson, and all-day rental equipment for $35 at Tussey Mountain. Lessons take place at 11 a.m., 1, 3 and 6 p.m.
- After learning how to shred, take some time out and enjoy a nice brunch. Check out StateCollege.com’s restaurant guide for the perfect place.
- It may not be the right time of the year for miniature golf, but The State College Kiwanis Club is sponsoring a Miniature Golf Event at the Comfort Suites, located behind T.G.I Friday’s on North Atherton Street. Tee times start at 2 p.m. and cost $5 per person, $20 for groups of four or more. This event benefits Kiwanis-sponsored youth programs throughout the community.
- Not in the mood to play a sport yourself? Check out the Penn State men’s gymnastics team faces off against William and Mary at 2 p.m. in Rec Hall.
