Another quick update from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) regarding the Whitehall Road construction project.
Activity the week of April 30 will include:
- Installation of drainage pipe and inlets from the Waupelani Drive intersection to the Atherton Street intersection.
- Grading, sub-base, and under-drain placement from Waupelani Drive to Atherton Street.
- Utility contractors will perform aerial and underground relocation work throughout the project.
As a result, drivers may encounter flaggers at various locations between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The $10.3 million project includes roadway-widening, the addition of a center left turn lane, marked bicycle lanes, new traffic signals, drainage improvements, waterline relocation and roadway paving.
The three-mile project stretches from Route 26 to Atherton Street and is expected to be complete in fall 2013.
